Inlays & Onlays

Inlays and onlays are partial crowns, or ¾ crowns. These restorations will allow you to retain more healthy, natural tooth structure following treatment for decay or damage. In the past, placing a dental restoration required a minimum of two dental visits over the course of a couple of weeks. Modern dental technology has brought us one-visit dental restorations, and Dr. Goldberg offers this innovative treatment to you. With CEREC® technology, we can create and place a custom crown, inlay, or onlay in a single visit.

How Do Inlays and Onlays Work?

Tooth damage that results in broken teeth can be restored using an inlay or onlay dental procedure. Inlays and onlays are also designed to cover a smaller portion of the tooth, unlike a crown which covers most of the tooth. The precision of today’s dental technologies allow a dentist like Dr. Goldberg to produce a perfect fit between the inlay/onlay and the remaining part of the tooth. This eliminates the chances of food getting stuck as a result of a less-than-perfect fit, giving patients peace of mind when undergoing an inlay or onlay dental procedure.
